The four-hour tuto\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal will first explain why random sampling is neces\u00adsary to ensure gener\u00adal\u00adiz\u00adabil\u00adi\u00adty of scien\u00adtif\u00adic find\u00adings. Subse\u00adquent\u00adly, some select\u00aded sampling meth\u00adods (simple random sampling, system\u00adat\u00adic sampling, strat\u00adi\u00adfied random sampling and lumped sampling) will be discussed in more detail. Both the method\u00adol\u00ado\u00adgy itself and the advan\u00adtages and disad\u00advan\u00adtages asso\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded with each method in prac\u00adtice will be discussed. In addi\u00adtion, the specifics that need to be consid\u00adered in the statis\u00adti\u00adcal analy\u00adsis of the sample will be explained for each sampling method discussed. As a simple exam\u00adple, the esti\u00adma\u00adtion of the mean and vari\u00adance of a contin\u00adu\u00adous vari\u00adable of a target popu\u00adla\u00adtion using a single sample is used. As part of this proce\u00addure, impor\u00adtant concepts such as system\u00adat\u00adic error, sampling preci\u00adsion, and analy\u00adsis weights will be covered. After success\u00adful\u00adly complet\u00ading this tuto\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal, partic\u00adi\u00adpants should:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">- Under\u00adstand the role of sampling in empir\u00adi\u00adcal research.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">- Be able to judge the differ\u00adence between appro\u00adpri\u00adate and inap\u00adpro\u00adpri\u00adate sampling meth\u00adods depend\u00ading on the research question.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">- Under\u00adstand why sampling must be consid\u00adered when statis\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly analyz\u00ading&nbsp;data.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Subject Require\u00adments<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">No prior knowl\u00adedge on the part of the partic\u00adi\u00adpants is neces\u00adsary.
